Mercer Island has adequate parking if you limited the current P&R to island residents. There is no need to build an additional lot so that even more congestion can come to the island.

I can't believe the city would even consider this proposal. Lets stop making rash decisions and make good long term decisions on this precious place called Mercer Island. The infrastructure cannot sustain all the growth. The traffic on and off the freeway on MI will be even worse. Please consider placing this park and ride in the city center but DO NOT ruin Luther Burbank by adding a cement parking garage!

The decision to build a new parking structure would permanently alter, and in my opinion, diminish the landscape of a lovely community park. Rushing this decision would prove to be unwise at best. The offer from Puget Sound Transit does not seem to be fiscally responsible, or there would not be so much pressure to quietly push this negotiation through. Please consider many other alternatives - open space is a precious resource, and should be preserved.

We should reinstate adequate bus service between the existing Park and Rides and the North End P&R, not add a lot in a spot that doesn't serve the Island well.

Please take time to consider this measure. It barks my heart to think that any of Luther Burbank could be compromised. It is an incredible treasure that makes me proud to live on Mercer Island and pay taxes here. My grandchildren and I spend many, many summer days there, using every bit of that incomparable park.
I find it alarming this as progressed even to this point. Completely ludicrous.

I am firmly against turning our existing land into another concrete parking structure. MI City Council members need to listen to the voices of the citizens and stop this hasty transfer of our green space!
Mercer Island Park n Ride should be reserved for Island Residents!

I've heard it said City "Hearings" sometimes do not include City "Listening". Is this an example? Why the rush?

While MI needs to find ways to improve access to transit, paving the proposed area to put in a parking lot is not the solution. Please slow down the process so that alternatives can be considered.

We need to save Luther Burbank Park, bu not only that, generally speaking, we need to preserve parks on MI for generations to come. We must strive to keep a balance between new constructions on MI and retaining nature preserves and parks.

Our parks belong to the citizens of Mercer Island, not to the City Council or Sound Transit. We pay taxes on the parks and wish them to remain as parks. I would vote against this motion as described to me.
