I strongly protest the use of part of our precious Luther Burbank for a gloried parking structure that will serve many more off islanders. The current one should even be limited only to residents during the day as I can never use it myself unless there before 8am. No further traffic congestion!

Sound Transit should invest resources into encouraging people to park and ride in their own town and not try to find a solution which will allow more non residents to park on Mercer Island

The existing P&R facitlity would be fine if a significant amount were set aside for MI Residents. It is currently not useable by residents as the whole thing is taken up by non-island residents. Building another parking structure will simple exacerbate the existing problem.

We need to find an alternative solution to this proposal and to study its impacts. This seems to be a rush to judgment without appropriate study. The envirpomnmental and people impacts are potentially devastating to islanders and unfair without more work

Absolutely NOT. There is no viable argument that this will benefit Mercer Island. People from the Eastside have many options to park their cars in their own communities and hop on a bus to transport them to Seattle. They do not have to drive to Mercer Island to find a parking space.

Find another way. There are so many potential negatives from this proposed project and it leaves a number of parking/commuting issues completely unaddressed.

I strongly disagree with a parking structure proposal on Luther property. If the city is looking for money, simply developed that same property into a waterfront park/Restraunts and theater space with a real dock and real services.

Please find alternative locations for regrading the the hill next to the Community Center and putting in 220-plus parking spots. This will only diminish, NOT enhance, the value of Mercer Island in the long view. As another resident has said, " The decision to build a new parking structure would permanently alter, and in my opinion, diminish the landscape of a lovely community park. Rushing this decision would prove to be unwise at best. The offer from Puget Sound Transit does not seem to be fiscally responsible, or there would not be so much pressure to quietly push this negotiation through. Please consider many other alternatives - open space is a precious resource, and should be preserved." Listen to your residents, do NOT build this parking structure.

As owners of two properties close to Luther Burbank part, we are appalled to think the city could take any action to degrade this special place. Luther Burbank park sets the tone for the entire island and should be kept intact and green.

City Council -- Reconsider MICEC property for P&R 1) Public transit should start at Point Zero not after a drive to a P&R. 2) Public land is a treasure & not for reallocating lightly. 3) Insufficient consultation is undemocratic so look forward to giving my input.
