You must reconsider the placement of extra parking. that are is clearly park property and was never intended for parking lot. If our existing park and ride had been built to tje demand of riders we. Ost likely would not have this problem. why are we not talking about added 2 more floors to our existing park in ride?

Yes, we desperately need more parking, but this is not the right solution. Stop, take a deep breath, and look for the longterm best solution. That may be tearing down and enlarging the current P&R lot (the City and ST knew that one was too small from the beginning--a bad solution) or building a garage "lid" over I-90. Any of these solutions would cost more and take longer, but it would be the right thing to do.

More pricing--not more parking--is the solution. At a price of zero, there will never be enough supply to meet the demand. Charging for parking would raise badly needed revenue and manage parking demand effectively.

Why not add another Metro Parking garage near the Humane Society at Eastgate. A huge chunk of wasted property is available across from Honda on I.90. Let the Bellevue residents and those NOT from Mercer Island, park at that location instead.

This is the last place on the Island where you can get an unobstructed natural view of our beautiful surroundings. I walk my dog there every day and it would be a terrible shame to lose this.

The park is NOT a PARKING LOT and should never be. This will just encourage off island transit riders to use the CCMV lot and then the Islanders will be unable to use their own community center, which WE PAID FOR

keep this area next to the community center in its natural state so the pea patch can still be enjoyed by the citizens of MI and the homes behind this area will not have their view ruined, looking down on a parking lot. This is some of the most beautiful land on MI. Leave it as is.

Once a parking structure is built, there is no going back. We will have to live with this. It will ruin the quiet neighborhood and for what? There have been 3 accidents with cars coming from SE 24th Street onto 81st Ave SE, one being a pedestrian getting hit and the other two drivers going into the ditch, not to mention the other drivers who don't stop at the Stop Street or at the other end of 81st Ave SE, most of the drivers go into the wrong lane as they turn from N Mercer Way onto 81st Ave SE. The lighting in the parking structure will have to be lit brightly and that will affect the neighborhood.

The view from this hill is beautiful. I walk my dog there all the time and it's a great spot that people go to watch the blue angels. Please don't remove it for a questionable parking lot.
