I volunteer witn Earthcorps and MTS greenway and would rather see more MI residents outside reclaiming these beautiful green spaces. There will always be competing financial and population pressures. I choose to live here rather than Texas, partly, because I value the environment we live in and hope to preserve what I can of it.

It seems to me the parking problem is caused by non island residents using the MI park and ride. We live on North mercer way and see the traffic using our park and ride. Taking park property to add more parking is not the solution

A facility of this type should not be placed in a residential neighborhood. I believe we need to turn our focus to the utilization of the current Park and Ride to better serve the needs of Islanders. At the same time we need to think of creative ways to shuttle Islanders to the current Park and Ride lot during off-peak hours, a solution which preserves the density pressures that will continue to push at us in the coming years. Sound Transit does not necessarily have the right-sized answers to our issues. Let's work together as residents and city government to arrive at OUR solutions. Thank you!

Mercer Island was so adament about I-90 not taking a huge chunk out of the island and what living there was about. Why would they want to destroy such a beautiful part of the island for a parking garage. Please think harder about the solution to a definite problem!

HOPING THE COUNCIL WILL CONSIDER THE CURRENT PARK AND RIDE FOR MI RESIDENTS ONLY, VIA A STICKER "PASS" OR SOMETHING TO THEN TICKET VIOLATORS. IT SEEMS APALLING TO ME THAT ON MY OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY, I HAVE HAD TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO HAVE ONE DANGEROUS, INCORRECTLY TOPPED TREE IN THE 1950'S ON MY PROPERTY SCRUTINIZED SO MUCH THAT I COULD ONLY CUT A DEADLY DANGLING LIMB ABOVE MY CHILDRENS PLAY AREA IN A 1 HR PERIOD, ONE DAY, DUE TO OUR BELOVED EAGLES, AND YET THERE IS CONSIDERATION OF TAKING THE ALREADLY LIMITED OPEN SPACE THAT IS SPECTACULARLY BEAUTIFUL FROM ALL ANGLES, AND COMPLETELY RUINING SOMETHING THAT IS IRREVERSIBLE. HOW IS THIS JUSTIFIABLE FOR OUR CHILDREN, AND OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN? I MOVED HERE 3 YRS AGO BECAUSE I APPRECIATED MERCER ISLAND'S RESPECT FOR NATURE AND OPEN SPACE. I PAY TAXES AND VOTE AND VOLUNTEER,EVEN THOUGH MY 3 SMALL CHILDREN DON'T EVEN ATTEND THE SCHOOLS HERE BECAUSE THEY ARE SO OVERCROWDED. ALREADY SICKENDED RE: CULTURAL ICON OF THE THEATRE CLOSING, DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BECOME BELLEVUE? I SINCERELY HOPE VIEWS AND OPEN SPACE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN TRANSIT, JUST BECAUSE 520 ADDED TOLLS.

Mercer Island needs a small solution to its small/limited parking needs for access to the Bus/Light Link(anticipated) station. King County and Sound/Metro Transits parking extension(MI Community Center) and "Bus Barn/Transfer Station" proposal is inconsistent with the aesthetics of the affected locations and will overwhelm our logistical transportation capabilities. It is unfair and unreasonable to unduly burden Mercer Island with King County's regional needs and goals. I urge the MI City Council to reject King County's East Link integration plan and to come up with a Mercer Island centric plan that puts what's best and right for Mercer Island, first.
