Save London Ontario Festivals

Music is one of the most important parts of our life. Don't hold back.

Festivals play a major part in bringing people together to celebrate and showcase cultural, artistic and musical diversity. This is what makes a city like London so appealing ...not only do they entice visitors to attend these events but also attract many people who get to see London as a vibrant, diverse city in which to live in. The revenue generated by all festivals in any city is irreplaceable by any other form of tourism..... City Council needs to look at the number of tourists and local residence that attend these events and compare that to the number of people complaining. A standard noise curfew of 11:00 pm should be suffice to keeping complaints to a minimum and allow the festivals to continue to showcase so many wonderful artists while generating revenue for the city in general!

People complain too much... we are only talking about a handful of hours that the sound could bother people... festivals bring more community unity than complaints do

i am an up and coming food vendor and rely solely on festivals ( for now )to grow my business. its simple math - I need people in attendance to show up and enjoy themselves walk or dance or obverse up an appetite to spend money at my location for food. the more people in attendance , the more revenue I can generate, the sooner my business prospers. I am looking forward to see what this summer will bring BUT festivals is what i need !! what if they start complaining about the smell of my food next ??? I can't control the way the wind blows ! same goes with the music played - obviously residents don't want it too loud or played in the late hours but there should be a happy median in considering what is an acceptable level inside the park -- and outside. As well ... where the complaint measurements should be taken.

The festivals are part of what makes london, london. They drive tourism and revenue to the city and are a great way for people to mingle and interact with different cultures.

The festivals in London are a vital part to our city, Not only do they bring in revenue they also create an atmosphere that everyone is welcome without charging an arm and a leg. It is ridiculous that we feel the need to shut down something that is fun, economical, and just good for people...because of some noise! This will drastically effect London in a negative way if they are shutdown.

Live music should be what brings people together, not tears them apart! Music will bring business TO the downtown core, not drive it away! I , for one, will purposely go where I hear music playing to see what is going on, and then will eventually end up spending money around me. The love of music is in us all, why fight it? No, I don't wanna hear screaming head banging music at 4 am....I don't think anyone does...(when they are trying to sleep or get a baby to sleep) ...BUT...during reasonable hours...PLEASE let the music play! Open your minds and your ears to different styles and genres! You may find you like something you thought you hated! I know I have! :) Keep our festivals alive!

This is what makes London great. The outdoor festivals bring many people to our fair city. I personally bring at least a dozen people from Windsor to many of the festivals. We rent a few rooms, spend our money on food and drinks and many shop the downtown stores. London would be nuts to interfere with such a beautiful aspect of the Forest City. My two cent's worth.

This is like complaining about smelly farms when you move to the country. You know that you occasionally have to put up with noise if you live downtown! It goes along with living in a more vibrant part of the city! Long live the Festivals!

It's like our city council doesn't like to make money unless it's from taxes!!! Maybe this could kill more downtown businesses as well. I moved back downtown for the festivals and downtown life.

This is ridiculous! Downtown & the parks where these events are held have always been & should continue to be for the arts. The way this city is run is so uptight & "stuffy". My band played at Home County Music & Arts festival last year & gained hundreds of new fans. These folks never would have gotten to see us if it wasn't for this festival.

We live downtown for the culture, not in spite of it.

I came to London to study at Western but I stayed because of the vibrant community spirit and the many festivals that inspire me to head downtown throughout the summer months. The culture and sense of community these festivals provide is invaluable.

As a homeowner in Woodfield, one of the reasons I love living downtown is the festivals and the music. If music, joy, community and celebration bother you, maybe living downtown isn't your bag.

Please take the sound meter reading at the appropriate place which is at the edge of the property line as no one lives 100’ from any stage in the city or better yet take the readings from the property line of the person who is complaining. Please do not kill this city's great reputation as an excellent place to see live festivals. And please do not kill our fun!!!!!

This is a very serious issue.Not only will it make London a Drab City in the summer months but think of the revenue loss,because of some bureaucrats,who think the run the City.Let s all get together on this issue & hold these events.

Killing live music in the summer will kill downtown.
