To close the crossing is an utterly ridiculous idea. This is a well used crossing and the alternative routes, should it be closed, involve quite a long distance. If the crossing was closed this would have a major impact on literally everyone in Llandrindod, for example we are told to recycle more so having a conveniently sited recycling centre close to Tesco those on the Tremont Road side would have a major detour to reach the site, meaning more environment impact in fuel use and emissions and could even result in less recycling and more going to landfill, so probable higher council costs. The whole idea of closing the crossing will be detrimental to the area/town/shops/environment etc

On line searches reveal an accident in 1901 with no deaths or injuries.
Risk of an accident is shown as I in 1 to 2 million.
Local businesses need the access.

Can't see network rail providing a bridge or tunnel. We need access across the line to use our only reachable letter box that isn't!t emptied at the break of day. So I am against any scheme that removes this useful access.

There are many young children need the crossing to walk to school otherwise it would be a long way round. There are shops either side of the crossing that would be affected. People From the other side of the crossing use Hodges shop for food and the post office. Many of these people are elderly and cannot do the long walk to town. I hope that network rail will see the hardship for locals

Utterly ridiculous idea which will cause great hardship to both young (attending school) and elderly using the facilities such as shop and hairdresser on Tremont Road and Chp shop in Waterloo Road.. If the idea goes ahead - will there be a footbridge? again what about the elderly, disabled and mothers with prams and pushchairs!!

I use the crossing to get to:-Recycling Centre, Tesco, chip shop, Gwalia, Albert Hall, Band Practice, Rock Park.. And that list is without thinking very much. it would be extremely inconvenient.

I think this is a totally stupid idea. I walk over the crossing many morning's & meet lots of other people using it for all reasons. It would definitely make a difference to the local businesses on the crossing & not in a good way either. Why close something that has worked for years. If I do wait for a train to pass through it only takes 5 min if that. Im sure we all prefer to do this than spend the extra 10/15 minutes walking especially for the elderly or the children going to school

I support the local County Councillor Gary Price opposing the closure of the crossing. Its a vital link to the lower part of town. Its closure would be detrimental to businesses and the public

Disbelief that Network Rail should even consider this, it is a vital link between two areas of the town and would be a retrograde step.

Would there still be pedestrian access??Vital for children going to school . Any closure would be Disasterous for the crossing businesses which are very needed locally and valuable competition to the supermarkets.
