Lisa Gray makes Houston SO MUCH more interesting and has opened my eyes to hidden gems all over the place. That is not an easy task, as I am a person who also scours Houston for the interesting, unique, and cool, but Lisa tops all of my exploration plus she writes about it so eloquently. Her interviews with some of city's most interesting citizens who make Houston great (very few of them well known) are already missed and have left a hole in my heart. I'm not sure why the Chronicle cancelled her column since it was absolutely THE BEST in the paper, in my humble opinion. The Chronicle's ad campaign used to be "touch the news that touches you" and Lisa's columns touched hundreds of thousands of Houstonians every Sunday. Please follow through on your tagline and let her do her wonderful column again. Thank you!

I just got back home from driving around the east end of downtown where a friend who has lived in West U for years was looking at new townhouses. We commented on how this was a part of Houston we never had seen and wished we could sit in on a meeting of city urban planners to know what is discussed for the future growth of the city. Lisa Gray's columns are the closest to being a fly on the wall in those meetings. With the rapid growth we are witnessing and experiencing, it is more critical than ever to have a writer with Lisa's insight to keep us informed of all the changes taking place in the City of Houston.

Now more than ever we need thoughtful comments about the kind of city we want Houston to be. We missed quite a few boats in the past: city-wide mass transit; broader streets, some sensible zoning; boradband, etc. Let's keep an intelligent discussion going.
