I am honestly overwhelmed that so many of you care about this column like I do. We are nearing a hundred signatures and seeing that number climb is entirely because of your passion for Lisa Gray's work. If you could send this link to a few people who also value her perspective on our city we might just hit that milestone today.

Lisa Gray is one of the few voices for a better Houston that the Chronicle offers. Covering issues like preservation is of much more value than some school pageant in the burbs. Is the Chronicle actively trying to drive away the remaining full subscribers they have?
Houston is interested in business. However, the arts and architecture are a major contributors to our quality of life. There are many who value these as much or more than sports. Without the aesthetic environment, we are at a disadvantage to other major metropolitan areas.
Lisa Gray's articles are the most consistently informative and thought provoking of any articles that I have read in the Chronicle in the past 30 years. Quality of life effects all Houstonians and Lisa's column highlighted quality of life concerns for us all.
I have maintained my long-time subscription to the Houston Chronicle out of a sense civic pride and duty. Lisa Gray's column is the best thing the Chron had going. I don't know how long I will shell out for what's left of the paper without her column.
Now more than ever we need thoughtful comments about the kind of city we want Houston to be. We missed quite a few boats in the past: city-wide mass transit; broader streets, some sensible zoning; boradband, etc. Let's keep an intelligent discussion going.

Lisa Gray adds substance and thought provoking intellectual comment to the Chronicle. Anyone can read canned news clippings on the internet or even the Huntsville Item. For a major newspaper to maintain its status as a genuine urban source of news and comment the Chronicle needs Lisa Gray and her column.
