Music is healing. Music is passion. Music is the closest form of magic that we have. It is a proven fact that music stimulates the brain and helps with other school work.

Going away to band camp is one of the really important traditions we have left. Experiences happen at band camp that are indescribable. For the administrators to take it away is shocking and it is very disrespectful to the current, past, and future marching knights.

As a Marching Knights Alumni and former Marching Knights parent I feel it is the wrong decision to cancel such a long standing tradition of a group that Prides itself on tradition.I truly feel the administration is making a huge mistake in this undertaking

As a former member of the Marching Knights, I am in shock at the decision made by the LW Administration.

Has nothing to do with budget cuts. Band camp is paid for by the parents / students as part of the marching knight fees. LWC music boosters do a fantastic job of providing many fundraising opportunities to offset cost. The other schools deficit spend year after year. I know. I spent two years as the lwcmb treasurer.

Please tell me that cutting the LWC band camp is related to budget cuts.

The traditions of the MK at band camp cannot be continued on home turf. Current and alumni members are shocked at this decision.

This program brings so much life into schools. Band camp does more than just teach a bunch of kids how to march and how to play instruments on a field. Band camp creates a community that lasts a lifetime. Going to band camp can mean the difference between staying in school to graduate and dropping out because you don't feel like school is a use of your time. Band camp grows leaders and grooms individuals to take an active role in an organization that is all about development of skills both physical and mental. Band camp changes lives and getting rid of it would destroy and integral part of your school's culture.

Central truly deserves to have this band camp back. The people in this band are fantastic, and they always put on a beautiful show that I know couldn't be possible without this. I sincerely hope you guys get this back.

Next year my daughter will be a Senior. She has been waiting for this "Last" camp experience "As a Senior" since the day she came home from her Freshman band camp. It's not just the location, the cost or still getting in the same amount of practice. It's the experience, the togetherness of their fellow band members. These children spend an Extreme amount of time together during the band season that as a Freshman, they are just team members and when they reach their Senior Year, they are a Family!

Band camp not only gives the kids time to learn their new programs but also brings solidarity between the kids, instructors, and parents.

Band Camp was not only a bonding experience with friends staff and parents but it created a unity amongst the musical performers. Having meetings and practices off site was even more effective than evening practices due to the intense practicing. Let's find a solution to keep this program going. I want my child to be able to enjoy what I did 25 years ago. Let the tradition continue.....

Band camp taught me what hard work and cooperation are, and what it takes to be the best. I learned as much about life as I did about music. Easily one of the most critical events in my young life.
