I feel this is a crucial time in the marching knights kids lives for them to grow, build comaraderie, and teamwork. This should not be taken away from them.

I was able to attend band camp last year as chaperone. I saw first hand how amazing it is for the kids and how much they grow!

Your band is welcome to join LWC at the upcoming board meeting. I think its wrong that east is not going. The biggest issue you have is Bert Johnson does not want to take your band off campus for camp. He did not do it a LWN and does not think it necessary.

Band camp is such a positive experience. It would seem much more beneficial to extend this experience to more students rather than deprive all students of the program.

Administration did not give a reason. They want to cancel off campus band camp for consistency among the bands because none of the other schools travel for band camp.

Anyone know for sure why it is being cancelled? I haven't seen an article on Patch or anything. Has the school given a reason why?

Cancelling band camp is the worst idea possible. It was the foundation for growth, trust and lifelong friendships. It would not be possible for such a large group of people to bond together as one and create the skillset needed to carry on awesome traditions. Color Guard, 2000
