Pretty disgraceful to make Lil bill leave. He was there first.....with as many bikes as there are at usc, there is room for both.

I hope USC will do the right thing to keep this man employed on campus. Show some compassion and not greed.

Reading this is saddening, after 40 years of serving the campus with mutual support from students and faculty, it's unfortunate an alternative decision has been made to allow a more "grounded" repair business to take the place of this mans lively hood. Although change is sometimes necessary for growth we must also be aware of the implications the change may have on the surrounding community. I understand that it may not be feasible to allow this man to stay on campus, and continue his trade without disrupting the legal agreement between the campus and its developments, however as you sat and reviewed your options to repurpose this space so should you sit down and review this mans position and work diligently to ensure he has a successful future. Just as you promote your students to succeed and eventually work in an industry that their passionate about so shouldn't this man have the same opportunity?College allows individuals to be able to become anyone whom they choose to be. A doctor, a lawyer, a CEO, and even a repair man. It's not the classes that makes the individual successful it's the experience and the knowledge gained from being surrounded by others who want to achieve success. This man deserves his own piece of that success and security.

Shame on you USC. Your playing the card that it's out of your control but yet you had everything to do with it. The rich will always step over or on top of the little guy who cares about the people.

Family owned businesses are the heart of a community. USC should be ashamed of their willingness to destroy a family business that has been around for over 40 years.

Figure out a way to help him rather than just toss him aside. Used to be USC fan, but you make it easier to jump ship.

Alumnus '07. This is wrong! Connections with the neighborhood and inclusivity are two values USC needs. There are literally thousands of bikes on campus; if one guy in a shed is threatening a new bike shop that wants to open, then maybe THEY need to re-examine their business model...
