Public beaches are for the public! This development will restrict the public’s access to something that is PUBLIC property. Parking is key to allowing access to an area. Clearly, the new pavilion would limit access. The privateization of the Lido beach pavilion is a bad idea, please stop it from happening!

I have been in the Sarasota/Bradenton area for over 10 years. I am shocked at the total disregard for the environment and the local people of Sarasota. The power of the almighty dollar in the Sarasota area in the view of the politicians is just unacceptable. The people of this area don't want this expansion and they are the people that put all of you in office. It is time to listen to us, don't you think!?!

I am a frequent Lido Beach user. I walk, run or swim there at least 3 times a week.

I attended the Sarasota Commission meeting which finalized the vote to approve the contract with the two gentlemen mentioned. Every seat in the auditorium was filled, and the appeals to reject renovation were eloquent and heart rending. However, when asked about the legality of the contract, the Sarasota Commission legal officer said that the vote had already been taken to approve the renovation, and that Sarasota could be liable for thousands of dollars for breaking the contract. How can we get around that?

I have lived in sarasota my whole life. Slowly the beaches have been changed and taken away. Please leave something for the locals! I love sarasota and our beaches. If you take them away we will have nothing that remains to be true sarasota.

Haven’t we had enough development for ten life times here in Sarasota. The lovely small town character is being sold for the highest dollar. Enough is enough.

When I visit my sister in Sarasota we always go to Lido. It's convenient because it's right across the street from her house. We enjoy the one man band there as well. Leave it as is. Why does everything have to be for the Snowbirds ?

We need to keep Lido as it is and the Daquiri Deck on Siesta this is a residential community. There are plenty of places to have a drink on the water. We don't need the noise and the sirens when things go wrong and they will for sure. When There comes Here, Here becomes There.
