I oppose this plan especially considering the ridiculously low amount of rent per annum. $80k/yr is a steal.....cmon City Commission.

I don't understand why the City Commissioners are more than willing to relinquish control of their best asset, Lido Beach and its Pavillion.

Keep Lido Beach the way it is - we do not need a large restaurant in place of the existing concession business. Please just re-nourish our eroding beaches with the sand from Big Pass.

STOP IT! Why does everything have to be given to developers?! I love peaceful, non commercial Lido Beach. The proposal makes it another jammed venue & leaves out the vast majority of the public that use Lido. And then there's the ongoing problem of rising tides & beach erosion. Who would bail out water intrusion in to the facility? The existing pavilion could be updated but even that's not necessary! Please, please, do not okay these site/use changes!!

Stop this insanity! Lido Beach Pavilion must remain open to the public! Say NO to this backdoor privatization!

They already have traffic and parking issues on St. Armands Circle. It needs to remain free and affordable for all patrons of all ages.

Hi Wendy - Thanks for your comment. Just to clarify - the applicants would tell you that they won't charge a membership fee, and that anyone can go to the Pavilion. Yes, there won't be a membership fee. But, having a destination restaurant with a full bar and $100/day cabanas will crowd out those who are there just for the beach. and create a private club atmosphere inconsistent with a public facility. A sense of belonging is a basic human need. A public facility which prices out the backbone of our community - working families - is against the public interest and just wrong. Thank you for signing and sharing this petition! Cathy

Please do not allow the Lido public beach pavilion area to be only accessible by the wealthy! The parking and accessibility to the current facilities is Wonderful for the general public. Surely there is another location where the proposed activities can take place. This has always been our favorite beach because it’s so easy to access and yet, there are restroom facilities.

We must remember the locations past history Sarasota past funding for the rehab of the casino and in the dark of night in the middle of summer the bulldozers came in I wonder whatever happened to that money that was allocated way back when..

Please do not do this. The reason I moved here was because of the beautiful beaches and easy public access to them. Stop making beaches private and only for those privileged few that can afford club membership. I live and work here and it’s not fair to take away public beaches. This is just wrong and is driven by greed.

Our beautiful beaches are a wonder of nature and should all be and remain public.

I'm ok with remodeling the pavilion but not ok with commercializing it !!! We the local residents do not want it commercialized in this manner. We like the peaceful beach we have and that's why we bought here !!! Lido beach resident Karl white

Let's not take away our public access to the reason we all moved here, our beautiful Lido beach!
