Enjoyed the old Casino in 1959 and continue to enjoy the public beach and pavilion every year since. Keep it public!

The Daiquiri Deck proposal will change the chemistry of Lido Beach. Residents and visitors come to this beach because of it's low key atmosphere and it's affordable amenities. Please don't change our history!

This is our Only Public beach. We must keep it accessible for everyone, not just those who visit our lovely city and can afford $100 daily for a cabana.

There’s a Daiquiri Deck on St. Armand’s, keep it there and save the beach for the people who care about going to the beach!

Concerned that everyday, general public - firemen, teachers, x-ray technicians - will be priced out of a family snack at the beach; concern that it will become another Marina Jacks public/private property; concerned this will evolve into an upscale 'destination' restaurant - there's plenty of them already.

Terrible idea to bring a late night hard liquor bar to the public Lido Pavilion, and taking up the parking spaces will be a disaster. Did the Commissioners read anything? They are not listening to the public. Elections are coming soon. We need to replace any Commissioner who approves this horrible idea!

Holly, thanks for your comment. To be clear, the destination restaurant plan would not be an actual hotel, but the Meshad/Aloft Hotel connection raises prudent concerns regarding whose interests will be served with Daiquiri Deck/Aloft Hotel proprietors: the public? hotel guests? One downtown hotel approached the Lido Key Residents Association about renovating the pavilion and having it serve as a public and hotel guest site, and LKRA members responded with a loud and clear NO. Now another hotel is attempting to gain a foothold through a back door approach. This is not in the public interest.
