Save Lido Pavilion

Something is wrong here! I am currently renting my 3 bedroom condo our for 10,000 a month in the off season. How is it that this private enterprise is only paying $80,000 a year for a beach front facility of that size??? This is shady.

Leave the beaches alone!! Have you not seen what coorporate America has done to all the things they touch!!!???

This is a public beach. It must remain public for everyone to use. We love the laid-back feel of the area and hope it remains that way and not become some kind of exclusive beach club or late-night tavern full of people who do not care about our area the same way we do.

This proposal is wrong on so many levels! Let's return to the original plan to renovate the restrooms and spruce up the existing pavilion. The City had already allocated funds for that before this colossal mistake was dreamed up. Commissioners, please listen to your constituents!

Please reconsider the plans for Lido Pavilion. Keep public access at the same level it is now.

This proposed plan is so wrong! One thing I loved about going to Lido Beach is watching the families with their little kids playing in the sand and the surf. A free activity for those families who don’t have a lot of money. Lido Beach is a PUBLIC resource and should not be handed over to private enterprise.

I grew up at Lido Beach. The Pavillionwas always a treat. I know that balancing the cost of such facilities is important, but this plan just caters to the wealthy and cuts available parking. Keep the snack bar and the beach open to everyone - it is a public beach, after all.

Please consider all the people who have gotten such enjoyment out of the beach and want to be able to continue doing so without spending hours looking for parking or simply giving up

Terrible plan

I'm a strong advocate for keeping Lido Beach Pavilion completely public. As a longtime Sarasota resident and tax payer I abhore the idea of privatization of the beaches. This is one of the lovely locations for all to enjoy no matter what financial status. Keeping this area public and environmentally clean is a value to visitors and belongs to the 'people' of the community. It should not in any way become a nightlife venue which could easily destroy the natural environment that Sarasota spends so much energy and time and money to protect currently. The romance and peacefulness of Lido Beach would surely be compromised and polluted if the County and City Commission give these rights away to make a short term buck. That it's even able to be considered makes me feel sincerely sad.

This is about the most stupid idea imaginable. You will wipe out the charm .. Our whole area is becoming one same after the other .

"NO" to government use of Lido Beach Pavillion.

I an a county resident who enjoys going to the Lido pavilion and walking along that beach (as long as it lasts). While it has become practically impossible to park at Siesta Key beach, Lido has remained usually accessible. Privatizing as described is truly NOT in the interests of the majority of your/our beach- going residents or visitors. Making that area basically a by-invitation-only property, literally or figuratively, is a very self- serving plan by the money- talks power players. The commissioners in favor of this should be ashamed of themselves.

Save Lido!!!! We don’t want another daiquiri deck! Spare us!!!

I bought on Lido for the ambiance. What you are doing will change the entire nature of the Key and is disturbing, worthy of much investigation. There is more to life than increasing your profits.

I strongly urge no changes be made to Lido Beach Pavillon. This sets a welcoming tone to tourists and residents.
