Keep Lido and all Florida beaches open and free. No one owns the beaches. If we lose our beaches, there's no reason for anyone to come to Florida. Florida will lose its commerce. People will find other places and islands to go to.

There is already a shortage of public parking and beach access, particularly during season. This plan will further reduce both. Why is there any plan to change public lands without a public vote? For the record, I vote, “no!”, and will also vote, “no” in the future for any commissioner that votes, “yes” for this project.

The Lido Pavilliin must remain Free and open to the public as it is now. I have been going there since 1957. The proposed plan excludes many.

The proposal is one more use of a public area for private gain by commercial interests. Has Sarasota not been uglified enough by this mentality? Gregory Hetter, MD, 22 year resident
