I don’t understand how this can even be legal. We. Need a strong stance. Perhaps a lawsuit (against City Commission) similar to Siesta’s against us. It was (is) an attention grabber and brought issue to light. Public needs to know, Commissioners need to go. Ha!

Please please please keep this location the way it is! I'm a local resident and I use that facility almost everyday. It's such a nice place to go, it's one of the more natural areas, peaceful, and affordable! It's a gem in Sarasota the way it is!

This is a bad plan. Lido beach is a friendly family oriented beach and this proposed development will kill that atmosphere. Stay the course...

This should not even be considered. Our public beaches are (and should remain) public. Any planned change that would limit public access either for monetary reasons or land use restrictions (cabanas, up-scale restaurants, adults-only bars, parking limitations) would only serve to erode the public trust.

This will seriously effect the entire flow of SK. I agree its gotten pretty crowded with it being #1 and #2 beach in US etc. But, this is not the way.

As a Sarasota native, nothing is more sacred than public beach access. Privatizing public beach spaces is in direct violation of what it means to be a Floridian and tells the world our beaches are for sale. This isn’t just for today, but to save our beaches for generations to come- rich and poor alike.

Progress is fine. But progress for a select few, at the expense of the many, is not what it should be all about. Not all the time. Please, put a few more benches along the beach and stop trying to privatize everything. The beach belongs to the people of Sarasota and the tourists that come here.
