Lewis Goff ranks among the top educators that have influenced my life and love for writing. Although at the time I struggled as a teenager and may not have fully appreciated how fortunate I was to have a seat in his class, he remained persistent and encouraging, patient, and inspirational. He boosted my confidence as a writer when I doubted my capabilities. His witty persona and advice were fundamental and have remained with me since I graduated in '07. Thanks to Lewis among just a few, I am currently working towards my teaching licensure so that I may be able to impart on others what HE has imparted in me. PVPA cannot afford to let go of such an incredible and talented educator, a pillar in its infrastructure, a cornerstone of where many lives have been impacted. Lewis Goff is PVPA and it would be a disservice to future students to never allow them the chance to experience his teachings. For the sake of PVPA, he must stay. Hear our plea.

Lewis has been such an impactful teacher, both on my own life and on many others. He is part of what made my PVPA experience so great, and I would be heartbroken if he were terminated, as would so many others. I know we don't have all the information we should as members of the PVPA community, but please consider our voices and opinions in the upcoming days.

Lewis Goff is hands down one of the best teachers I have had in my life. His love for literature and his gift with students was evident even to us hormone-addled navel-gazing teenagers. He is a tremendous asset to the school and to lose him would be a terrible terrible blow for the spirit of PVPA. We love Lewis!!!!!!

Lewis is an essential member to the PVPA community. He was one of the MOST influnetial teachers I have ever had in my life. He is a wonderful and kind human being who is always pushing kids to go above and beyond. He educates the community on important and neccessary topics that only he can teach so well. Two of these examples that first come to mind are "Through White Eyes" and "Art of the Essay". These classes have changed students lives, I know Art of the Essay did for me. I hear stories about his classes being the most eye opening and he is the most sought out teacher for Graduation speeches. The student body needs a teacher like Lewis at PVPA. We already have him, let's not let him go.

Lewis Goff is one of the teachers I will always bring up in conversation when asked about my time at PVPA. He is the teacher who helped me construct the essay which got me into multiple universities. In my seven years of upper level education - high school and college - Lewis has been one of my favorite English teachers by far. PVPA would be lacking with his removal as a faculty member.

Lewis taught me how to write. It's pretty much that simple. He got me into college with my essay I wrote in his class, and I wouldn't be at grad school now if not for him. I spent four years as a magazine editor, and I couldn't have if not for him.
Lewis is fearless; he's the sort of teacher that we should point to and strive to become more like. He's the icon, and we cannot afford to throw that experience away. For the sake of the students, present and future. We cannot afford it.

Lewis is the reason why I am in college today. The reason why I completed High-school. The reason why my challenges in English didn't stop me from learning to love it. This is unjust and him leaving would be a terrible lost for PVPA. PVPA has been changing alot and Lewis is one of the very few left who embodies the real message of PVPA. Also if we look at how many classes nominated him to be a class speaker at graduation, or how his classes are always full, we get a true depiction of Lewis's character and his relationship to these kids. I understand there are standards, but I have been in college now for a year and my teachers don't hand stuff back almost until the end of the semester and I think that is a low blow to lewis and he doesn't deserve to go out like that. He has proven himself enough to the PVPA community and PVPA should be ashamed of themselves for letting it get this far. Lewis is changing lives and is educating the truth and is making a difference in this world one kid at a time. With everything going on in this world today, do we really think that losing a good teacher, a good person, a good leader to some administrative constructed Ideal is the best for or children, peers and the future to come. There are always room for improvement, but this is just not where PVPA's energy should be. I am so disappointed and in tears. #teamLewis4ever

I have had him for a teacher for almost three years when I was at PVPA. He was one of the greatest ELA teachers I ever had. I do not understand that turning back papers to students on time is a way to lose a job. The quality of their work should and he has proven himself time and time again when I was his student.
