Please do not put the fire and rescue station in the middle of this quiet neighborhood with many small children and tennis players.

I understand the need for another fire station in Manassas, but why on that site in particular? The industrial park is just a half mile from there and locating the station there wouldn't negatively impact the area like many residents have said. I don't even think it would negatively impact the fire response time for the surrounding neighborhood from that station.

I oppose the building of the new fire station at the proposed location.

Just say "NO" to this location due to so many environmental concerns. The City of Manassas prides itself as a Tree City and this site would not correspond with this philosophy. The noise, and especially the light pollution, would interfere with the neighbors in Lee Manor along Cedar Ridge. There was a premium paid for home lots facing these wonderful natural areas. I believe the selling agents for Richmond American touted that nothing would ever be built there due to the school and creek. This is a real concern with all the deciduous trees in Lee Manor Park. Also, many of the students at Round Elementary only see nature at recess. There are so many families that do not let their children out to play after school and this is the only time they get a chance to observe the wonders of nature. The loss of trees and the animals that live there would be very, very detrimental to all.

Don't think it should be right door to a elementary school or any schools

I have always valued Manassas City for their positive actions on the environment. The park woods, which blocks the neighborhood from street and accompanying noise pollution, is an environmental asset. We are fortunate to have many different birds ( and even not so welcome groundhogs) visit our neighborhood. Destroying habitats is not helpful to support this thriving eco-system. The City also chose wisely not to "landscape" the opening to Lee Manor development which leaves a natural world for animals. Too often in NoVa things are so "prettied" up (as a marketing tool) so that habitats are being destroyed which each new development. I have had outside contractors here to work on our Lee Manor house, they are amazed at how quiet and secluded we are. The man who did our Arbor even called it an oasis. I also believe we have enough noise pollution from the airplanes. At times they sound like they are 10 feet over our house. Not a happy feeling. I know the airport is a valuable asset to the city so I have chosen not to complain. When I moved here in 1991, the airport was smaller and not as noisy. I believe the airport has expanded enough and perhaps flying earlier in morning and later in the evening. To add a firestation would be exascerbate the noise problem.

This is not a wise idea. What a danger and noise factor to the neighborhood. The airport is a much safer location.

This is not a good location for this-for a multitude of reasons.

Why not put th fire house at the airport? I don't need it next to Round Elementary, I've lived in cloverhill since 1983.

Destroying a park and putting a fire station next to an elementary school is not in the best interest the citizens of Manassas.

My Concerns are what everyone is talking about, Children/Walkers, Noise/Lights, Loss of Park Land, Home Values. There is plenty of land down the road close to DMV why doesn't that work?

Attending Round Elementary almost 10 years ago, I always appreciated the quiet, friendly location that I was able to ride my bike or walk to from my house. Although a new fire house is a good idea, I do not believe that putting one in in such close proximity to Round would be in the fire house's or the school's best interest. The surrounding neighborhoods will also not appreciate the extra noise and lights going on at all hours of the night.

While my house a few blocks away I agree that there has to be a better spot for a new firehouse. My biggest concern would be the noise and lights with a station right smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood. That tennis courts are always bing utilized , seems like a shame to get rid of it.

This isn't in my backyard and I don't have kids attending the school but I agree that the proposed location is ill advised and alternate sites should be give more serious consideration.

My biggest concerns are the loud noises during all-times of the day, increasing traffic!

Shared access for elementary school and fire station - insane. Dollars and cents trump 8 year old safety and education

What was the City of Manassas thinking about when they proposed a fire station next to a school. Have they seen how many children cross in front of the proposed site a day? The noise will be a disruption to the school children and the home owners, surely there are better suited sites for a fire station.

I oppose having a fire department next to Round elementary school because my daughter usually walks in front of the proposed location...I strongly believe this will not be safe for our children and the noise will impact in their concentration during school hours.
