All the reasons listed in the petition and too close to the school and the Lee Manor neighborhood. The loss of all the natural space is very concerning. There is little in the city that is natural and the students at the school only see this environment while at the school. The negative impact to the above neighborhood is to be considered very thoroughly.

I OPPOSE the Fire & Rescue station at 9650 Shannon as it will only bring more noise along with train noise. I'd like to see it at another location!

Surely another location could be found for the fire and rescue station. It's important that we safeguard our children and give them room to play.

Tearing down parks is not the way to go about this. Maybe knocking down a run down building or vacant lot would be better.

I feel not only at this location, but don't feel we need an additional new fire station. More rescue if anything.

As a resident and friend to first responders, please save this park. The station can be located in an alternate location.

This location is simply a bad idea. I’m all for another fire station on this side of the City, but it’s location nestled amongst quiet neighborhoods is just not appropriate. I simply can’t imagine the effects of increased noise and light from a station by Round Elementary. Of greater concern for me, however, is the loss of natural space. Lee Manor Park truly is a breath of fresh air and an asset for the City. In a world where green space is becoming increasingly rare, we must work to preserve what is left. Any loss of that forested area will decrease valuable habitat for both indigenous and migratory species while opening the door to invasive species. The addition of impervious surfaces, like driveways and buildings, will increase runoff and erosion. I was lucky enough to reap the benefits of Lee Manor Park during school and family walks along the Raccoon Trail, developing my love and interest of nature in that wild space. Why diminish Lee Manor Park’s intrinsic value to inspire and amaze every generation?

As a kid, I grew up with this park. It provided a positive, active outlet. It had such an impact on my life that it bothers me to think future children and families may lose it. Please save this park for the community.
