Please save these beautiful window. They are a part of our history, as many things in DC are. Many have ancestry of soldiers who fought in this conflict, and southerners want to feel welcomed in the cathedral.

I am a proud Air Force officer retiree who served in Vietnam. I find it incredible that it is even being considered to removed the Lee stained-glass window. How can we as an "enlightened" nation wipe away our history and that of a God-fearing man. Do we do the same to Washington, Jefferson, and all the other Presidents who owned slaves, including Pres./General U.S. Grant. Where does this craziness end? Please do not bow to those who would destroy of country and heritage. Thanks.

I'm dumbfounded that the art in the National Cathedral would be ruined by the removal of Southern Heritage. And, I'm even more dumbfounded that the hate I am being shown as a Southerner. I'm proud to be from the South and my ancestors were Confederates because they lived in the South.

It seems on the news that these people and these local ya hoos are "wolves in sheep's clothing" hiding behind the church and are the ones who are stirring up the most trouble over the Confederate Flag and the Civil War. Politically correct can only take them so far, as they don't have a leg to stand on. The churches are ones who are suppose to be bringing brother's and sister's together in the UNITY of God; but instead are putting every person asunder and driving wedges; so how can they say they are for the rights of people when they need to clean their own houses of the garbage that they are bringing into a place of worship. This church is important enough to have this same name for way over 100 years and this stained glass window is apart of it. These people need to wake up to what is actually going on before it is to late to turn back the clock. If someone told them to jump off a cliff, would they do this as well??? SMH here for them having no common sense at all. This is a large tourist attraction also and has made a lot of money for the city and Washington and Lee University, as well as VMI. They need to look at the long term results of their actions and not bury their heads in the sand at the short term; as everyone else who is on the removals bandwagon. People need to stand up and be counted here, don't wait until it's to late. The local paper said one person suggested the name change. WHY CHANGE SOMETHING THAT IS NOT BROKEN; EXCEPT MAYBE IT IS THE PERSON WHO WANTED TO PULL THIS STUNT?????

Why are the people of Lexington being so hypocritical and saying they are not changing the name because of who the church is named after; then are trying to get this beautiful stained glass removed. LEAVE IT ALONE AND STOP BEING RACIST AND PREJUDICE AGAINST THE CONFEDERACY. YOU CAN'T CHANGE HISTORY OR THE PEOPLE WHO DIED FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVED IN!
