Concerned about a growing Launceston community, increases in housing and a lack of infrastructure to support that growth. I’ve just had a baby so the presence of a local MIU was reassuring. Launceston medical centre can be difficult to contact and get appointments with. There needs to be a reliable and local, medical infrastructure for any community to thrive. Plans to improve the town centre with the intention of encouraging more visitors to the area would surely benefit from knowing that we have adequate medical support in the form of a functioning MIU.

This is a much needed service in the area and stops longer waiting times at the larger hosp.

An incomprehensible decision from a supposed healthcare provider that reduces healthcare. Nobody could make up such nonsense and expect anyone to believe it, and yet...

Disgraceful that this unit should close so suddenly. NHS should be ashamed of themselves

Ridiculous to be considering closing such a vital service. How about removing a layer of useless management to keep frontline services open?

Closing Launceston Minor Injuries Unit will put more pressure on local GP practices, and may force people to travel further for treatment. It will just be a knock on situation all round.

Launceston's MIU is vital to the community and particularly when access to other medical help is difficult.
