Scandalous decision, scandalous lack of communication, utterly shameful betrayal of our growing community.

I have used this unit for my children . We all need this unit . My children as adults have used the unit . When hospitals are full to the brim surely it makes sense to keep Launceston, to take some of the strain.

Why have you picked on Launceston again? This is the most ridiculous decision I have heard and Launceston deserves more! We have been pinpointed as an area that needs new housing, hundreds have already been built with a lot more on the cards. Our Medical Centre is under huge pressure and is already bursting at the seams with more than 18,000 patients and within a few months that will have increased easily to over 20,000. To have to travel to Liskeard, Bodmin or Stratton is ludicrous. Parents with a young child in their car who is injured and crying having to travel 20 miles or more for treatment? It’s criminal !!

Communication and consultation as well as the understanding that our medical centre is nit running as normal due to covid, that both Derriford and Treliske Hospitals are overwhelming stretched due to this as people are turning there as Drs appointments are difficult to get our MIU is viral. It needs to be open again now. Launceston residents deserve better treatment and standard of health care.

The community is growing, we need a hospital to support it. The MIU is an important part of feeling safe & supported here. Thank you… Belinda McLeod

Launceston needs this hospital, ridiculous shutting it down, and the way it was done was very unprofessional!

This MIU is much needed in this town. People will just go to derriford for minor injuries which could easily be treated at launceston

They were amazing when my baby was having breathing problems!! If we had to travel further or wait for an ambulance things could have been much worse!!

I scalded myself with boiling g water and need to have the wound dressed each day. The minor injuries unit were a 'godsend'. We need this facility to keep open.
