Some won't bother going all the way to Derriford for what they think is a minor injury, so what might seem like minor could end up being major, needing even more medical intervention in time costing more. It's false economy.

It needs remain open. It will now only put the ambulance service under more pressure. With people not being able to get to other minor injuries units!

Launceston needs its hospital, its very important to us locals, and more so its MIU, which has been closed without prior notice....A absolute disgrace ! Don't WE need it ? Son't WE count ? and whilst on the subject of our lovely local hospital, when are we going to obtain those much needed finances to update our hospital with a much needed makeover ? Its very much needed, and regularly used facility here in Launceston, and people have always relied on it when its needed in such a emergency. But NO ! its been closed to help out other area's within the region with staff ! So, where are all these so called new nursing jobs to allow our SW hospitals to run with a full capacity of nursing staff & Doctors too, what the government promised eh? Launceston is a fast growing Cornish town with a ever growing population with the many 1000's of homes being built on a regular basis. So where do these people go when they seek medical help exactly ? The local doctors are worse than ever when people try to get appointments, or to be seen by a GP, and now this ! It's Simply not good enough, so BRING OUR MIU STAFF BACK, AND SPEND SOME MUCH NEEDED ££££'S ON OUR HOSPITAL !!

For those without cars or reliable transport this MIU is vital. I have used it a few times and found the staff helpful and professional

This is a vital resource for a rural community, where the nearest A&E department is over an hour away by car.
