Very much needed it is central to so many areas plus the amount of new houses being built means more people

Absolute disgrace taking this vital service away from our community. Used a few times whilst pregnant and with my son. I couldn’t imagine the stress of having to drive to Liskeard or Derriford for treatment especially when pregnant and children or elderly are involved.

We need this service as a town desperately, not everyone has the luxury of transport to get to the other medical sites offered, what do those families do ?

I was as concerned as the next person to hear that your NHS Trust had made this decision to close Launceston MIU especially during the school holidays and when Cornwall is full to capacity too. It's a vital part of our community and town and a lifeline to some especially those without transport as public transport is very limited. Scott Mann MP mentioned on Spotlight News that Launceston was running on 90% staffing levels so weren't short staffed so why should our MIU have to shut because others are short staffed. I can understand people's outrage at this decision and hope the service will be restored sooner rather than later.

Liskeard only takes 50 minutes to an hour on a good day from Launceston. The road to Bodmin was at a virtual standstill on Saturday leaving one choice Bude which is busy during summer months. Launceston minor injuries is essential for the area. Staff issues don't mean you shut for 2+ months due to Covid.

We need a minor injuries unit in Launceston. Derriford is too far to travel for many rural people, especially those who do not have transport and rely on the kindness of neighbours to drive them.
Launceston needs this
