I have needed this unit several times. For us in North Cornwall it is too far to the major hospitals. We need it.

This is a very important facility in an area where the nearest hospital is at least an hour away. It would be dangerous to close it.

Surely it makes no sense to shut yet another vital service when so many others are under pressure and of course will be even more so if we lose this one too.

Ridiculous decision. Why will we, a fairly large town and business area have no MIU for several months. Why are we expected to travel to Plymouth already overloaded or Liskeard 16miles. Many people have no car or transport.

Cannot believe this large area is currently without minor injury care. Please reinstate immediately, it is so frightening

I don’t see how closing this MIU is going to achieve anything?! Staffing issues in other hospitals can surely be rectified by using agency workers! Don’t penalise our ever growing community because people in other towns are isolating due to covid!
We’ve used this service loads of times over the years and it is a comfort to know it’s there, especially with children and ESPECIALLY over the summer holidays!
I truely believe the closure of this MIU will lead to an increase in non emergency 999 calls, ultimately leading to packed out hospitals in the surrounding area, hours and hours waiting in A&E, and those who so desperately need the emergency services may well die waiting.
Disgusting treatment of an entire town full of people who rely on this service.

Have only used the MIU on a couple of occasions for a few fairly painful "minor" injuries to self and family, have never been so glad to have had it there for us. Ridiculous options to use Liskeard or Bodmin, we're badly served in Cornwall with regard to health care without this closure. The appalling way in which this move was carried out needs to be examined, a reflection of how mis-managed the whole exercise was carried out.

Madness, minor injury units stop A&E being clogged with scary but not life threatening problems. Our Ambulances and Acute hospitals are overrun, but this Government and your Cornwall Clinical Commissioning Group want to pile more demand on to them This is a scam to finally pull the NHS to its knees, do not let it happen in Cornwall.

My wife is a nurse at Derriford and it will put extra pressure on their A&E having to deal with other non emergencies
