Without the Launceston MIU ambulances are going to be called far more often. instead of calling an ambulance to Derriford for xrays when needed etc people go to Launceston miu. If you go to Derriford of an evening once the miu is closed you inevitably see people from this area there, so extended opening hours would be better , not closing it !
Even things like cuts, if ignored or not treated properly at an miu, because of no local miu , can lead to problems that then require more nhs treatment.
The local doctors surgery will not pick up the extra work load, its barely possible to get an appointment anyway.

We need to keep this unit open. It is vital to our area. Without this we have a very long journey to Plymouth. Please don't do this.

It has been a vital service for our town and surrounding villages for so long. It has saved me huge amounts of time and stress when needing my little boy to be checked over with head injuries. It’s been a god send to many and is being desperately missed presently.

My family and I have been very grateful for visits to Launceston MIU in the past. The staff were always so kind and caring. Please don't shut it. With all the new houses being built around the area there will be more people who need it.

Please keep this valuable local service open for this part of Cornwall. Helped us and our family over the years and spared us from going all the way to Derriford especially when the children were younger.

is it not the duty,enforable in law, of the medical directorate ensure safe ,continuity of access to continued medical care .i assume the equivalent doctor is part of the commissioning group and therefore answerable to the General Medical Council in these circumstances.The CEO is also responsible and can be dismissed if it is found appropriate
