Save Launceston Hospital and it's Minor Injury Unit

We need this hospital otherwise where can we go for emergencys?

My dad passed away on Christmas Day 2016. He spent his last few days at Launceston hospital. It is a lovely hospital with fantastic staff and would be a real shame to lose it

I think it is important to have this hospital kept open - it is a long way to Plymouth or Truro hospitals.

It is disgraceful that the people in Cornwall are losing their local hospitals. How far will they need to travel if these places close?

This is a fabulous hospital. In a community like Launceston, with such a wide catchment area and the nearest hospital being in Plymouth, Launceston hospital is a necessity to the area.

We have hundreds of new houses being built. Our GP surgery is over subscribed and we are an hour away from Derriford. What on earth are Cornwall Council thinking of!!

Very necessary to have this lovely little hospital especially for older patients. As for the minor injuries unit, be fair, it's heck of a drive to Derriford to be seen, roads are narrow and bendy. Also please don't forget this hospital carries out x-rays and has the emergency dental unit, physiotherapists, and numerous clinics as well as visiting Doctors/specialist/professor etc. Please don't cut us off.

Never should be shutting down a very important hospital in an ever increasing community of older people.how are the government ever going to stop bed blocking.This County is sinking into a third world country.

An essential service to the whole community. We have been for children X-rays and other appointments with consultants. We are an essential central point between Derriford and Barnstaple - Launceston Hospital boosts the infrastructure of this whole area. It needs to stay.

Whatever you do, dont get ill..devon and cornwall, the retirement capital of uk, soon to have no care system and no hospitals. Its an hr from my home to nearest A and E, last time went, waited four hrs and they closed and everyone told to leave, they were full and overwhelmed. But theresa says its all ok!!!

This local hospital is vital! Various members of my family have been wonderfully cared for here, including my dad and my mother-in-law. We couldn't have visited them so often if they had been further away due to work etc and that would have had an impact on their recovery time. It must be saved!

It takes me 10 minutes to get to launceston hospital, in an emergency. I takes 40 minutes or more to get to Derriford. It often takes an Ambulance 50 minutes to get to Derriford admittedly they can do life saving en route. There are those living in Launceston that are living on very low income & I mean Low Income, who can not afford a car of their own or have given up driving due to health or old age or just can't afford to run one anymore . How the hell do they get emergency treatment that is not life threatening? or do they also phone an Ambulance, over loading the system and services? When the hell are those in power going to wake up and see simple common sense? It is down to these cuts over the years that have caused these problems in the NHS in the 1st place...

Do not close this unit. We live in th emiddle of. O where with zero public transport. Where else can people go for help with their injuries?

As a child growing up in Launceston.. Many a time ive need help.. And plus when I had children it was a great help to know we didnt have to travel to Derriford hospital .. Its to far away..
