Save Launceston Hospital and it's Minor Injury Unit

In a town with a population of twelve thousand, plus all of the surrounding area receiving treatment in Launceston, it will be impossible to provide adequate medical care without a local hospital.

It would be a huge blow for the people of Launceston to lose their hospital, and very poor planning given the town's current growth and plans for further growth.

Launceston Hospital should not be closed for all the reasons already stated.

As someone with a health condition that minor injuries can often help with it would be madness & not always feasible to travel more than 30 minutes to get to another hospital. These places are needed in most towns especially in rural areas where public transport is so poor many will not be able to get to the towns left with minor injuries units. This decision makes little sense. Our minor injuries unit is great & well used.

Stop cutting things that are useful!

Launceston hospital is such a valuable asset. There is a huge catchment area that it services. The bigger hospitals are already stretched to capacity and beyond, why not try to utilise the small hospitals to help relieve the burden on DerrIford TrelIsk and Rd&e.......!?

As an NHS employee in an ambulance trust the closure of the MIU's and loss of community beds from the wards will only increase demand on an overstretched, under resourced service and Accident and Emergency departments already at breaking point.

Launceston needs a hospital ! Our hospital !! Our doctors surgery can't cope with its growing demands !! Too many houses being built and still only 1 surgery !! Leave our hospital !!!!!!!!!!

It's a crime to close any hospital , the bigger the distance patients have to travel to get treatment/ care will surely cause more complications/ deaths !

This is a much needed and used service.

Launceston needs a hospital and minor injuries unit for the local community.

Launceston Hospital is a great deal closer to us than Saltash, Liskeard or Derriford Hospitals. These local centres are vital for good healthcare.

Launceston is a growing town and needs our minor injuries unit . We are at least an hour away from any other facility, the anxiety this can cause to patients and loved ones on a journey this long could chase more emergency call outs which would potentially have just gone to the minor injuries to be evaluated. KEEP IT AS IT IS.

This will be a cost increasing cut!!! Are they bloody stupid - yes, of course they are. Give me strength!

Launceston Hospital is a vital local resource and should be kept.

Launceston hospital provides a great service. Closing it will put more strain on larger hospitals from transport to response times impacting on the level of care in general.

Launceston Hospital is a community resource in an area where little is left that is locally based. The Council and everyone else should oppose its closure, especially since not everyone can go all the way to Plymouth, Bodmin or Truro for treatment or to visit their families or friends in hospital. We need local services for local people and that's exactly what this hospital is so stop talking about closing it down!

This is a vital requirement for the people of Launceston and the immediate area as there is no public transport to Derriford and not everyone has their own. If the Government wish to save money let it start with some of the billions which are squandered on overseas aid.

We need to keep this hospital and in my mind reinstate Longlands maternity unit which has been close for many years, without it I mightn't be here today. Back in 1979 I had a miscarriage which nearly cost me my life. I was coming from Boscastle in the early hours of the morning in an ambulance with a doctor on board, that's how bad I was. They had to stop mid way at Longlands for an injection. I'm high lighting this as lives will be lost if the Launceston Hospital were to close.

Literally a life-saver in the community!!
