Derriford Hospital is constantly in the news due to the number of people attending and waiting times in the A & E Department. The closure of Launceston Hospital will only add to this problem. If the people of Launceston have to attend Derriford or Liskeard Hospitals for appointments how are those without their own transport expected to get there.

its needed for both and old there is not another hospital for miles it would be a sad day if the government closed this hospital just for money as there is very little in the way of carers due to a shortage in Cornwall

We Live in an area where we are an hour away from any major hospital, the service that is provided at Launceston is vital!

We need them even more. Cottage hospitals took many elderly that need time between major hospital and home a need the NHS say is a problem. And if you live in the area like me hardly any transport they are there to help.

Cornwall is a rural community that depends on these community hospitals. Access to larger healthcare facilities is challenging due to road networks and distance. Services are further stretched during peak season making access even more constrained.

Absolutely essential to the population around the Launceston area. Where would they go for minors if it closes? Derriford making their A&E even fuller, never mind the inconvenience to people

As launceston grows as a hub of manufacturing and social save the much needed facility. I have used it many times. It takes the weigh load from derriford. That is key. SAVE OUR COMMUNITIES. Don't kill them.

Closure of community hospitals / minor injury units will increase pressure on other hospitals/services. It also results in lost work days and therefore revenue due to patients having to take extra time off to travel further for out patient appointments. Its also a safeguarding concern for young and elderly minor injury patients forced to travel.

We are so far from Truro and Plymouth and these services were vital to my little one when she needed urgent attention.

We are over 20 miles to Derriford and why clutter their A&E with a minor injury causing a backlog

With our large regional hospitals struggling to cope with demand, surely the last thing the NHS should be doing is closing valued local hospitals & Minor Injury Units like Launceston. If the total cost to the region of closing smaller hospitals were taken into account, there would be no real saving to the tax payer, let alone patients and their families. Very short-sighted!

Local minor injury is vital in the rural community. Plymouth is so far away. A god send when my children were little and needed to be nebulised for repeated asthma attacks plus all the usual childhood injuries

We need local hospitals they support the infrastructure of towns and keep people together even in sickness
