Save Launceston Hospital and it's Minor Injury Unit

We need to keep our hospital and MIU at Launceston

We need to keep this hospital opened.

North Cornwall suffers from lack of services as it is and you have to travel 40 to 50 miles to access even the simplest of some of these. As a sufferer of epilepsy and cancer I cannot drive and with no bus or train services aiding me to my nearest area that may offer such help which again is 55 miles away, I believe closing down the minor injuries unit adds further insult.

My father was cared for here when he was terminally ill with cancer. Without the hospital it would have been a long drive to Derriford and an already difficult and upsetting time would have been far worse. The hospital is a vital service to the local rural community.

We need to keep our lical hospital. The largest one is to far to go fir a cut

My dad was in and out of this hospital and eventually had palliative care here. He was close to home and close to us. It made all the difference and the support was amazing. These local services are important to us and make a difference to our lives.

A vital link for the community otherwise cut off from Plymouth and Exeter with no car. Not always a need for an acute bed, Launceston is an essential resource.

Without Launceston hospital where can people of North Cornwall go when they need a hospital stay which dies not require an acute bed? Shutting local hospitals is not only short sighted and not economically justified but it adds enormously to the anxiety of patients and relatives for someone to be in hospital miles away, often without visitors who have no access to a car.

Launceston Hospital's minor injury unit provides a VERY IMPORTANT and MUCH NEEDED service in the area and my family among many others has more than once been very glad indeed that it was there. It would be a serious lessening of essential public services were it to be closed!

This is a VERY important facility for this medically isolated a expanding town, and and many friend have had cause to use it. This has resulted in the speedy medication & care needed by its wonderful staff, unlike the time my friend had to wait more than 45mins for an ambulance from Plymouth... Derriford is just too far for Minor injuries... Please build upon the fine foundations that this Minor Injury unit has formed.

My father just spent 3 weeks in the hospital, essential for a 87 year old man to be local to family and looked after by staff in an environment where you are more then just another patient. The location of this hospital serves an area a long way away from the major hospitals.

The services provided are essential to the local community, it is a long way to the nearest equivalent service.

As a type 1 diabetic I know just how much we need this service.

I personally need this hospital for essential and regular family care - I am sure I am just one of many.

Thus hospital needs saving. It provides more than A&E it's where we take the children for appointments too. The staff are amazing. Save Launceston hospital!!

Launceston hospital is an absolute necessity in our rapidly growing town.

We all rely on this hospital and it's dedicated staff.

It is a big mistake if they shut this hospital. As you are aware Launceston is now becoming a very big town. The amount of housing that is being built in this area will need this vital service to stay. It will also take the pressure of main stream hospitals. This also applies to the doctors as it is to small to cope with the influx of new people to our town.

Rural communities desperately need these local hospitals.

It's alway busy when we have been there and easy for the most vulnerable to attend.
