The Los Alamos Sportsmen’s Club provides a unique and diverse outdoor sporting venue for not only the residents of Los Alamos County but for all of Northern New Mexico as well. As a member, I enjoy safe, modern facilities for rifle, pisto, and shotgun shooting, and enjoy celebrating the history of NM with historical re-enactments as well. I want to state my strong support for this amazing sporting resource !

Tho we are not members, we appreciate the support of LASC for area BSA scouts. The facility hosts numerous scout activities over the year including annual Cub Scout Day Camps which include archery and bb gun shooting opportunity for scouts. Allowing the camps to be held at this location has been a huge support to local scouts. Often day camp is a scout's first opportunity to learn about fire arm safety.

The Sportsman's Club provides a designated area that promotes the value that most in Los Alamos abide by - self sufficiency. The desire to protect oneself feeds naturally into the desire to protect one's country - a sentiment that the lab at least says it promotes. Keep the Sportsman's Club in L.A.!

The Los Alamos Sportsman's Club is the Only legal shooting range for a 100 mile radius. Closing it will result in otherwise law abiding citizens illegally shooting on LANL, Federal, and State land. I urge LANL to sign a long term agreement with LASC. Thank you.

A town and main employer (LANL/NNSA/DOE) that purports to take safety in all forms seriously should "walk the walk" and preserve the Sportsmen's Club.

This range is critical for Los Alamos and is a key aspect of protecting the surrounding environment around the range. Please keep it in place.

This range is a part of community no different than the pool or Ashley Pond. Such a space serves the diversity in our community. And, it is important to have a safe, close place to keep our firearms skills sharp for out many hunting residents. I am in support of retaining this valuable space.

As a private citizen I can attest that this is one of the best sportsmen’s clubs I have had the privilege to be a member of and use. It provides a critical service to the community with a safe space to practice shooting skills of many varieties. The Los Alamos community, to me, feels like a dying community. We do not have good restaurants, any entertainment facilities, or retail options. The loss of this would be just one more nail in the coffin for this community.

Although not a member of the Club or a Los Alamos resident, I have had the privilege of being a guest at these facilities for classes and training. As a member of the broader Northern New Mexico community, I can say without reservation that the Sportsman's Club provides an invaluable public service by providing a safe, structured environment for the pursuit of all manner of shooting sports. This is in stark contrast to the unsafe, undisciplined, random discharge of firearms, without disignated firing lines or lanes, backstops, or restricted impact areas, that frequently occurs on our public lands and results in the abandonment of trash, spent cartridges, and spent targets, as well as wonton destruction of property, extensive resource damage, and the very real potential for personal injury.

The Los Alamos Sportsmen's club is a great place to practice and hone our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. Our current anti-American government would be infringing on that, and other rights, if the LASC were to close. Let's not let that happen.

LASC provides sports and training opportunities to many communities in North Central NM. To close the facility would be an insult to these communities.

As someone who works at the lab, this facility provides a great deal of enjoyment to myself, many of my friends, and a large number of people in the community. The closure of this complex may provide incentive for myself and my family to find employment in a different region.

The attacks on our rights in LA county are relentless. We need to keep the range open.
