Closing this would be a tragedy to the area. This is a first class facility where I train my children in proper gun safety.

The LASC is a longstanding, unique community club that we need to continue. It offers responsible gun safety training to citizens throughout Northern New Mexico. It deserves DOE/ NNSA encouragement to continue LASC services through negotiation of a new lease that is reasonable and fair to all parties.

The Sportsmen's Club is a valuable resource not only to Los Alamos but to communities nearby. Closing it would be a huge loss. It would also incur great costs, through displacement, to the safety of our trails: as an avid hiker I often see spent shells near the road. This use will increase, as will risk to innocent hikers.

Having a safe place to target shot, practice, train, and promote gun safety is needed in our community. Many organizations use this facility. Please allow it to remain and be used.

A shooting range is much more than a sportsman's training grounds. It is a vital facility for gun safety training that can ultimately save lives.

I fully support LASC. Further, the Rendia Canyon facility provides Los Alamos County citizens a place where firearms may be used in the mutual interests of promoting safety (relative isolation) and practical shooting skills.

This is a vital space to access for education and practice for responsible gun owners. The local law enforcement officers train here! The HS ROTC shooting team practices here.

I strongly support this recreational facility that affects people within LA county as well as neighbors and visitors to NM. This is also used by LAPD, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and many more.

The LASC is key asset to hundreds of sportspersons in Los Alamos county. Its closure would force the county’s avid sportspersons to seek other venues for their activities. Unfortunately, these other venues could, for some persons, include using National Forest, BLM, and tribal lands. This has the potential to create multiple, costly, and in some cases dangerous problems for the county and its surrounding neighbors. Considering this, and other perhaps unintended consequences, providing an appropriate alternative to the LASC prior to its closure seems prudent.

What are you talking about? This is the best Sprtsmans Club in New Mexico next to the Range operated by the NRA! Losing this asset is assinine nonsense that has become so typical of the NNSA, and the reason LANL is losing much of its prestige in the scientific community. Or haven't you residents noticed?
