The Sportsmans club is definitely needed for our community not just for recreational shooting of both firearms and archery but to teach our youth for hunter safety and proper use of firearms to use in hunting and self protection. If taken away the community will then need to go back farther towards the pumice mines to shoot where it is not recommend.

Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club is a valuable asset to the community and the state of NM. It should be allowed to continue operations as it has been in the past.

This facility is for the local citizens. These citizens have a right to use this small piece of land for safe recreation. This is not a threat to the US Government or the peace of the citizens.

This would severely cripple our towns activities. Not to mention our youth events and programs are a big part of keeping the children of Los Alamos level headed and on the straight and narrow. Everything must be done to save our range.

I support the request to keep the Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club open. It is a valuable resource for our community and an excellent means of learning and ensuring safe usage of firearms, which is critical in this day and age.

I fully support the LASC in what it offers to residents of northern New Mexico. The LASC poses no threat to the community and offers a great service in providing a safe and structured environment for archery and gun shooting practice. Please allow them to renew their lease and continue to serve the residents of northern NM.

Dozens of Boy Scouts have completed their Eagle Service Projects at LASC. My son’s Eagle Project cost over $10,000 and took over 400 hours of community service to complete (giving the handicapped access to the ranges). What message does it send to our youth that after they put all that hard work and planning into improving their community, the DOE will just have it bulldozed? This is the kind of government abuse that gives citizens reason to mistrust their leaders.

How in the world can anyone justify closing Our Sportsmen's Club?

LASC has been such a benefit to the community! It provides a safe place to practice target shooting, safe handling and care of personal weapons, and self defense. It would be a shame to lose such a useful safe place.
