Keep sunrise, they do an amazing job!

It makes no sense to alter concessionaires when less will be given back to LARPD. We have lost LARPD programs, like the Rock Climbing gym that was unique to the Tri-Valley, due to lack of LARPD financial resources. Why would LARPD find it beneficial to receive less money by changing concessionaires?

It would be ludicrous to change this concession. Sunrise is a reputable local business with an exemplary track record, superioir customer service and a fine reputation. There is every reason to maintain the existing relationship.

The Kayak Center at Del Valle has given our family great weekend joy. Please don't make it go away.

I have run a professional kayak school in the Central California and Bay Area region for over 20 years .(Current Adventures) We helped develop the EBRPD kayaking program over most of that time, offering classes at nearly all EBRPD venues, including Del Valle. When Sunrise Sports became interested in offering rentals and programs at Del Valle it was a no brainer for us to leave that venue in favor of them. They are in my mind one of the very best kayak programs in the state of California, and I am familiar with most. As an ACA instructor trainer, I am familiar with the training they have participated in through several top trainers, and I don't feel that anyone in the region has a safer or better trained staff! They offer FAR better equipment in their rental program than any other rental facility in California. It is my professional opinion that no one can offer the kind of safe, top quality, community involved, state of the sport facility and programs that Sunrise Mountain Sports has put together at Del Valle. Sunrise has provided valuable training for our scout troops by providing instructors and equipment based out of the Kayak Center. Please let them continue to provide this service for our families.

I have visited the Kayak center a few times and found this to be a will run concession with great people working there. Most importantly I know that the people that own and operate this concession are very involved with the local community and have respect for the lake. I am afraid that another concession may not have these qualities and just be a "commercial operation" without the passion and respect for the lake and the sport.
