All the Islands of the Aegean sea have to be protected! The ecosystem of a small island is such fragile and the turbines can't be considered green or sustenibile in these sites

I am afraid that because there is a lot of money involved these wind turbines will be built regardless. Unfortunately that’s how things go here in Greece.

The need for renewable power on Kythira could be achieved more efficiently and more cheaply by the use of Solar panels combined with batteries. These could be located on the relatively under used areas on the western side of the island. The island could be powered efficiently and excess power sent to the mainland.

We are TOTALLY opposed to wind farms of any sort on Kythira because EVERYTHINNG about them is NEGATIVE. We support renewable energy, but a more reasonable alternative may be solar array farms on the western side of the western mountains. We have one near our home in Florida with 480,000 solar panels covering about one square kilometre. No noise, no dead birds, no eyesore. Less susceptible to earthquakes, no moving parts to maintain, easier to transport and install using local labor. Hopefully someone in charge will get some common sense instead of greed.

My family and I strongly oppose the construction of wind turbines on our beautiful island.
