Though we are unable to write individual statements about the closing of Kuwae Preschool in English, we share a unified opinion on the matter that we feel the need to express. The first-hand experiences in understanding diversity, and the cultural immersion opportunities that have been granted to our students through our relationship with Kuwae preschool are invaluable and irreplaceable. We, the parents of children attending iac International Academy, feel deeply saddened that such a mutually beneficial relationship could potentially come to an end. It would truly be a travesty to begrudge children the opportunity to have meaningful interactions with other children who, though living on the same island, live such beautifully different lives than their own. Because of this, we support the petition to save Kuwae preschool, and uphold the traditions that we consider immeasurably valuable for Japanese and American children alike.

My son attended Kuwae as his first experience with school. His teachers, Ms. Katy and Saya-San were awesome. My son loved everything about his class, and I loved the school's small size and location. I don't know what the 'building issue' is, but I hope it can be resolved in such a way that Kuwae can re-open.

It breaks my heart that other children may not have the same wonderful experiences that my daughter had. Please keep it open!

It's so sad. My child would get so excited when it was school days! He would clap and say "whoo hoo" lol. He loved it SO much! Now he says he can't go back because the school is "broken".

Wow, how sad! My oldest attended school here and enjoyed it very much. You are taking away a school that serves military families. I hope someone steps up and opens the school again.

I hope it opens up again. My daughter went there when we were stationed there and she loved it. She even cried when she had to leave it.

Great school, an asset that needs to be available. It is where my daughter started her education, our experience with kuwae set the stage for her love of school today.

I had the pleasure of working at this wonderful little preschool twice! I can honestly say there is no other place like it in the world. The friendships and bonds that are made between the staff members are incredible. I spent most of my working years in this little building, and still speak to the families who were enrolled in my first class back in 2004. The world is a better place because of Kuwae Preschool!

My daughter went to this school and loved it till this day she still talks about this school. The teachers were amazing and got her where she needed to be to start kindergarten. Please reconsider to keep Kuwae Preschool open or possibly relocated.

As a teacher's aide at Kuwae Preschool, this school should not be shutting down due to the building issue.
This school has been a part of military families for years and has such a unique program like exchange culture with local sister school If Kuwae neds to shut down, this is not only our loss, but also the loss for family members outside of the base who wish to keep relation with Kuwae Preschool.
Please save kuwae.

Please keep Kuwae Preschool around. My child attended this preschool as a transition from being home, into being a big boy and attending a school that was long enough in day for him to adjust and myself. If not for this school and the wonderful workers I don't think he would have the love for school he has now. That initial school (Kuwae) shaped the thought of school into a positive learning and social place to be.
