Save Kirklees DofE

Completed Bronze, working on Gold. Really enjoyed it and gained confidence,experience, resilience and made fun memories.

I have gained and continue to gain so much from the duke of Edinburgh award scheme, it would to awful if this stopped

Save Dofe!! I have just completed mine and it should not be abolished. It gives young people freedom and it is something I throughly enjoyed. Don't scrap opportunities as young people don't get very many!!

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people and would be a shame for it to be no longer available.

This is an important youth project, which helps young people develop their core strengths and equipping them to shine in adult life, having obtained recognition for a valid and recognised achievement.

Many employers look on this award favourably when taking on new staff.

I don't think that you should get rid of the award as I feel that it is an important part of any CV that you use for jobs I myself have taken part of this award and it has helped me with my confidences and team working skills. Also getting rid of WACKY is unacceptable as it gives people with disability's to learn new skills and make new friends.this is just appalling and I don't know why Kirklees are getting rid of these awards. I feel ashamed that my council is trying to get rid of theses great awards

My daughter did DofE and helped at WACKY and it helped her develop skills and confidence, and with her Uni application.

this is a disgrace

DofE is so important for young people, it gives them opportunity to develop such a wide range of skills

DofE is a great course and should be avaidable to everyone in the area of Kirklees

Dofe gets you into university

Children need freedom and open spaces to explore. Let children be children

My son has just completed his bronze award and without the funding he wouldn't have been able to take part

Young adults who attend this have a sense of purpose and it helps them develop into adults

The Young people in our Explorer Scouts would be seriously disadvantaged should this service be cut in Kirklees.

This is a valuable service for young people of all backgrounds and cultures. It's also one that we pay for.

Please do not cut this service as it provides an important role in the development of young individuals.

There is very little in the way of activities for young people these days, especially something as important as DofE. These sort of things help to develop young people and keep them off the streets. Please DONT cut off your support to this sort of thing for young people!

Think of the young people you are letting down.
