Save Kirklees DofE

I've just done my Gold Expedition through Kirklees DofE - returned home from it today. Kirklees DofE offers excellent benefits to those who go on it, it shouldn't be scrapped and should remain available to assist those wanting to do DofE

Save Kirklees DofE!

Such a life changing award! Far to valuable to young peoples lives to lose. Eventually the government/local government will realise... when it is to late.

Too important to lose.

We want to save young service especially DoFE. It provides and engages teenagers and young adults .

This facility is just amazing. It encourages and challenges young people and makes a huge difference in their lives. Please don't cut it.

I think that everyone should get the chance to experience the DofE

Young people need the opportunity to test themselves in something worthwhile which will stand them in good stead throughout their lives

Both my sons use The Phoenix Centre for DofE. My eldest is completing his Gold Award and has completed both Bronze and Silver at the centre. He has really benefitted from attending, gaining new skills and it's really pushed him out if his comfort zone. He's become a lot more confident as a result. My youngest son has just started on Bronze and is thoroughly enjoying it. To have this opportunity taken away would most definitely have a negative impact. Please keep it open to ensure that young people continue to get this fantastic opportunity.

what a fantastic organisation and opportunity for young people to excel themselves and help support venerable people. Kirklees has lost enough with government cuts and changes and the D of E needs to be available for future generations,long may it continue .

Dof E builds confident and rounded individuals

I didn't do D of E, but as a teacher I know what skills and confidence it gives young people. Don't restrict it just to those who can afford to.

This is an invaluable experience, which all children in Kirklees should have the opportunity to take part it.

As a fellow member of the DofE community I can definitely say that these awards I have completed have opened up multiple opportunities for me and helped me develop as a person. It would be a shame to see this programme cut from Kirklees youth services.
