This petition is being started to Save Khalid Aldawsari as his health continues to deteriorate in his prison cell. Khalid is a Saudi Arabian student who came to the United States to study Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University. He got arrested in Feb 2011 and was sentenced to life in prison in 2013 for "attempting to develop a weapon of mass destruction".
He was an "A" student who loved chemistry and conducting experiments, that's what drove him to order a shipment of chemicals in small amounts for purely research purposes. As he was confident he was not engaged in any illegal activity, he ordered this shipment from a registered U.S company using his real name and requested that the material be mailed to his own apartment. Had he had ill-intentions, he would have probably searched for it in a more untraceable way
It's clear that Khalid is a victim of prejudice because of his nationality and religion. Expressing his misgivings about the fairness of Khalid's trial, former judge on this case Sam R. Cummings, recused himself and gave the current judge, Donald Walter a hard time saying: "I cannot remember a case in 27 years that has given me this much difficulty". Under cross-examination, prosecution witnesses indicated that Aldawsari was still missing one chemical for making the bomb and that he had not tried to create an explosion.
Being in solitary confinement for years without contacting his family has affected Khalid very badly physically and mentally, he was injured by prison authorities during his cell transfers while in custody of the U.S Marshals Service.
Now all what Khalid wishes for is to be freed and deported to his home country and to reclaim his rights and personal property including his project engineering card and educational items such as his chemistry videos.

من الواضح جداً أن خالد وقع ضحية للانحياز والحكم المسبق بسبب جنسيته و دينه.محاكمته كانت مثيرة للشكوك وهو ما حدى بالقاضي السابق سام كامنجز لإعفاء نفسه والانسحاب من النظر في القضية دون ذكر أسباب, كما وضعت القاضي الحالي دونالد والتر في موقف صعب إذ أشار أثناء المحاكمة بقوله" (لا أذكر أي قضية نظرت فيها طوال 27 عام جعلتني في موقف عصيب كهذه القضية)" كما تشير الإفادات إلى أن المواد الكيميائية التي وجدت بحوزة خالد غير كافية لصناعة قنبلة إذ ينقصها أحد المكونات,كما أنه لم يحاول أن يقوم بتفجير ولم يتم صناعة سلاح دمار شامل من الأساس.
نظراً لقيام السلطات الأمريكية بوضعه في السجن الانفرادي لسنوات ومنعه من التواصل مع عائلته فقد أثر ذلك على خالد بشكل سيء للغاية نفسياً وجسدياً,كما تعرض لإصابات جسدية أثناء نقله بين السجون المختلفة.
كل ما يتمناه خالد الآن هو أن يتم ترحيله إلى بلاده المملكة العربية السعودية وأن تُعاد إليه حقوقه و مقتنياته الشخصية التي من ضمنها بطاقة مشروعه الهندسي,وأدواته التعليمية بما فيها فيديوات خاصة بالكيمياء.
بإمكاننا جميعاً مساعدة خالد بالتوقيع على هذه العريضة تأكيداً على براءته و لإعادته إلى بلده وعائلته, معاً نصنع الفرق.

You should have the release of Khaled Al-Dossari , there is no proof of his conviction , in addition to that has been ill-treated in prison and the impact on his physical health , psychological, and this violates international laws and norms of the Organization for Human Rights therefore call for his release before the worst happens .
Education is right of everyone and if bad intention was there we all will be against Khalid Please free Khalid to return to his family and continue his studyings
The argument is poor . They don't have the right to do this just because he bought stuff from website under his name!! They know that his major is chemistry and NO one would
Our demands are very simple which we want the American law to apply the real justice not by considering the accused by his religion or whatever. We want justice,,,, Khalid is innocent
It is clear this young man made an honest mistake and was punished dispropotionetly under the patriot act. Please bring hom home to finish his sentence closer to his family ( his father died while he was in prison)
