He is a wonderful postman doing his round as fast and efficiently as possible. Just pay the man for his extra time, he's worth every penny

The Royal Mail apparently measures customer satisfaction performance "on issues including ..... service quality and customer experience." Richard scores tops on both counts: he cares about his customers, and about getting it right. Change is definitely NOT needed.

Richard provides a service to Kerswell over and above that I have received anywhere else. He is always cheerful and helpful to the villagers. Please do not replace him.

Too slow? Surely you mean too good at his job! WAKE UP ROYAL MAIL you have managed to get this wrong in so many areas why do you keep repeating your mistake? Richard is one of your best ambassadors and must stay.

When Kerswell was cut-off to vehicular traffic by snow, Richard walked round delivering our mail. He got to us at 8 p.m. in the cold and dark, real devotion to duty.

Ridiculous - the only time the post has been slow was when someone else was temporarily replacing him....AND he always managed to personalise the service at the same time. After years of indifferent postal deliveries in other parts of the country, meeting him has been a delight, he is without doubt one of the best things about living in Kerswell

In Kerswell
Richard provides the best service I have ever received from a postman and enhances my belief in the quality and security of service from RM. Surely he should be rewarded by RM, not, as it seems to me, punished for doing such a good job.

I'm sure, although I have never met Richard, that he was a very good postie and the heart and soul of the community. I therefore strongly believe that he should be reinstated into his former role of physical communication manager (PCM) / postie

I believe that royal Mail has fundamentally misunderstood the job that Richard does. By resolving issues before they occur because he knows the area and the people there is a direct saving to RM but because this is something that cannot be measured until after it is changed it does not count to quote Demming the father of statistical measurement at work “the most important figures that one needs for management are unknown or unknowable, but successful management must nevertheless take account of them.” Royal Mail needs to understand this. Richard does.

Richard has been the post man since before I was even born. I've known him since I was a little girl and have always thought of him as a kind, caring and diligent man.
I think it's a real shame that after 28 years service, this is how he's been treated by his employers. They should be rewarding him for his loyal service, but instead they give him the sack!
Absolute asset to the village!
