It is narrow minded and short sighted to close this nursery.
Make a secondary site for the extra students or stop taking more in that you can't accommodate with classrooms.

This is a brilliant nursery, my granddaughter attended from age 7 months and still attends in the school holidays plus my grandson to be was due to start in September. The room it uses would only amount to 1 learning room

Such a great nursery and fantastic staff. It will leave a devastating gap in childcare in Southend as it's run so well. It's caring and professional, Such a stupid decision by the college.

Such sad news to hear. This nursery is not a job to the members of its staff they are like a family one big unit. I used to work for this nursery and learnt so much from the staff that I have continued to use with my own child. To close close this nursery you would not only be letting the staff down but also parents and more importantly the children to get the chance to be part of an amazing, warm and caring setting.

I loved my time in employment at this nursery . After my son was born we also used the nursery , and as time progressed & he received a diagnosis of autism , my colleagues where so supportive .
Jungle Cats is A great asset to the college as I know students feel reassured their children are well cared for when they are studying and know the nursery is on site . This is mainly why students feel they can access courses and improve their prospects , as the childcare facilities are so handy and to an outstanding standard .

The government have stated that child care is very important and yet it is to close? this is very wrong, I could understand if it was doing badly, it would make sense but to shut it FOR NO REASON is wrong. They are just messing peoples lives up for no reason whatsoever. They should be ashamed of themselves,. As a husband to one of the staff I can assure you that this has caused a lot of personal worry, not to forget all the rest of the staff and the children who feel safe there and who have found a special place where they feel happy, Just to close it for NO REASON is wrong and makes no sense whatsoever, a really evil thing to do.

What message does the closure of the nursery give to parents, students and the those with a career in Early Years. It appears that the college does not have the welfare of the child, parent or the staff in their sights or thoughts. A child who understands mummy or daddy is not far away and a parent who knows their child is in an outstanding nursery are both going to be less stressed and more committed to the day. Lets hope a solution is found and everyone in Jungle Cats realises how much they are needed and how valuable they are.

By helping staff and students juggle their work/life balance will reduce their stress and increase their productiveness ... surely keeping it open can only be a good thing and have all of the other avenues to create more teaching space been considered?

I am devastated that Jungle Cats is due to close! This closure is going to put many staff and students under a lot of pressure to find another good yet alone Outstanding provider within distance of the college that has hours that work around work and study.
