It seems to me that the rules in place are reasonable. Businesses need to have some flexibility and freedom to function. This is a fine restaurant that enhances the community. It is silly to chase it away.

I had the pleasure of attending an event at the Jedediah Hawkins Inn when my best friends had gotten married here almost two years ago. This is a wonderfully beautiful and magical place. It is very clean and depicts what the North Fork of Long Island is all about. Everyone who works there treated us as if we were the most important people and showed the utmost professionalism. They make you feel as if you are welcomed into their home, which I am sure it is to the staff.
Their commitment to their events was made very clear on my friend’s wedding day. It was rainy and at the last minute the Jedediah Hawkins staff arraigned everything and no one was the wiser. Had you not been privy to what should have taken place, you would have thought that every detail was planned that way from the beginning.
It's a shame that a small group could of people who probably never ran a business, could potentially end to me what is considered a wonderful example of what other businesses should strive to create. It is a historical place making dreams come true and to end it would be appalling to say the least.

The Jedediah Hawkins Inn is a slice of history and it appears to be complying with the rules set for it to operate its business, bringing happiness to many who want to celebrate an important event in a beautiful and historic setting. When private residences exist nearby a business, the rights of both need to be considered and meshed. Private residents do not have the right to harm a business that is complying with reasonable rules. We hope the Jedediah Hawkins Inn exists for many more years to come.

My family and I love this place and believe they are very respectful to the neighborhood. We stayed overnight one time and you can here a pin drop outside once the curfew becomes active.

I find it ironic that a team that has created a beautiful, respectful symbol of the north fork would be subject to criticism by a few misguided individuals who likely never ran a business in their lives.
It may actually be more appropriate for the zoning board to revisit their mandate and consider what they are protecting. Damaging the financial viability of a small business that does nothing but improve the lifestyle of so many on the north fork, and one that has turned an abandoned eyesore into a landmark property, seems in stark contrast with what one would expect of a zoning board.

As a chef and caterer on the east end, I have great respect and appreciation for JHI for raising the bar on what we all offer brides/clients for their special day. This place is an undeniable enhancement to the entire community- Shame on you ZBA for not enforcing fair or consistent event policies! You're blinded by your arrogant, yet feeble, desire for power and control!

I have a successful wedding catering company on the East end catering over 25-30 full scale weddings every season on the North Fork alone. While JHI is technically a competitor of ours, I think it's disgusting that an operation of this caliber is being restricted when 20 other venues/ caterers are rocking weddings until midnight throughout the entire north fork. Just not fair!! This stinks of a witchunt against JHI (a gem of an operation- arguably the absolute best on the north fork) and whoever is responsible will ultimately be exposed for their maliciousness and hopefully held liable for the damages they have caused this exceptional place! I got married at JHI in May of 2013 and was informed we just needed to start our wedding at 5:30 as to have music etc ending by 9:30 and we didn't even have an outside event. So this beautiful establishment was looking out for the residential area even without an outside event... Making sure our wedding was a beautiful experience while also keeping the neighborhood happy. So yes they are complying w the rules and made sure we understood upfront. It was a fantastic and unforgettable day! We would be so sad if we couldn't come back to the place we started our life together
