I haven't met Jan but I have heard good things about her. I reckon a person who is willing to give there time to help animals has my vote. I wish I could use her for my animals in the future. All the best!

Jan Spate was the vet for our farm animals in the late 80's. Always had the time to show and explain, and teach this super curious child who was having a rough time of life, things that I have still reflect back on 30 years later.
This amazing woman has not only dedicated her life to the welfare of animals, but also has given so many young people the confidence and strength to find meaning in their lives.
I am disgusted that after being one of the vets who opened the way for the current Veterinary Industry in Canberra, those vets now want her out. Those vets who pay out clients with gag orders to avoid public litigation...

Jan saved our cat and tried to save our kitten. She went above and beyond for us. We were told by another vet to 'take her home to die' Jan saved her!

Jan is the best. She can cure animals where other vets have no idea. She has compassion for not only the animal but the owner alike. It saddens me that she needs to defend her practice. Jan is an assesst to the Canberra comminuty and should be commended for her contribution. This is demonstrated by her often waiving vet bills or charging lowcost to people who are unable to afford to pay yet are so reliant on their pets for companionship. I recommned Jan to friends whos vets are unable to diagnose or cure mysterious illnesses and she usually finds a simple cure and often overnight the animal comes good. All the farmers go to her too. She will open up and see your animal at all hours because she cares. I love Jan.

Jan is a true blue Aussie bush vet. The last of them sadly in this ever growing money hungry society. The animal comes first not the dollars at Jan's. It might not be a preppy, shiny glass fronted clinic with all the bells and whistles or even an appt book but she sure sees everyone.. Equally and treats like the other vets do just without the price tag. She goes well beyond her needs and only wants the best for the pet owners. She will try things other vets won't.. And heck it worked on my staffy. A lot of "average" people might not be able to afford pet care if it wasn't for Jan "keeping it real" and thinking outside of her pocket!

Jan has done more for my dogs and kept them looking healthy than any other vet I have been too. She cares about our animals and is so spot on with her advice on how to care for them..I am a very happy appreciative customer and need no one else to help us..

To penalise a person who has the commity at the forefront of their actions is unbelievable. This woman has helped countless animals and families over the years and without her the community suffers. Her bottom line is the animals not the dollar. That is the ONLY difference between her clinic and many others. To destroy her is to put many others at risk.
