I have used Jan and have always found her great when other vets want to charge like wounded bulls and cannot help with the situation. Let her be she does an excellent job.

The best vet ever. We have been using her for 30 years. We have had extensive need of vet services having owned a breeding property and Jan has been by far the best.
You greedy chain operated clinics need to pull your heads in and remember via the net we all see straight through your over charging and unscrupulous suggestive methodology

I have nothing but praise and respect for Jan Spate. She treats my babies as though they were her own, and we have had some terrible and excessively expensive experiences with other vets around the Canberra region. Save Jan!

Jan is a vet with compassion and a wealth of knowledge built from decades of treating a variety of animals, birds and reptiles. Thousands of people have taken their pets to her and for people like myself who have cattle and horses she is a godsend who will come out to tend livestock out in the paddock regardless of the weather or time of day and works Sunday or public holidays if someone needs her.
Like every animal owner I care about the welfare of them. I can see she doesn’t have a flash surgery with expensive machines but I have absolute trust in her abilities which is why I have stuck with her for 20 years. I also know she will recommend clients go to another vet when she can’t do certain things. I imagine every vet makes mistakes and if Jan has made any it would represent a tiny fraction of the number of animals she treats. Her treatment by a Vet Board that won’t give any details why “for legal reasons” is a joke. Without transparency comes corruption. Jan supplies a much needed service in the area and people can always get their animals attended too even when they are broke as she will let them pay later. Let her continue to practice and allow those who want the service she offers to continue to enjoy her complete dedication to all creatures. She deserves better treatment after such a long and dedicated career.

Jan Spate is a brilliant Veterinarian and Animal warrior.
She helps the poor and needy and doesn't charge the earth for her services!
Jan has always looked out for the animals interest first and foremost!
She should not be stopped from Veterinary practice!

I have known Jan for over 40 years. Throughout that time I have had call to take many of my pets to Jan. Some had simple problems while others had more complicated health issues. Jan has always been so caring towards all animals, whether they be a pet or wildlife that someone has bought to her. She is definitely more interested in the health and well being of the animals than she is about money. WHY? Because she loves animals. Jan has a lot of knowledge and takes the time to explain everything to an animal's owner, so they understand what is happening to their pet. Jan is honest and will tell it how it is while still keeping in mind how a pet's owner might be feeling. I don't know what we would have done over the years without Jan. There has been a lot of times where our pet/pets would not have been able to have medical treatment if it weren't for Jan. She does a wonderful job for the animals in our community and the wildlife of the A.C.T. PLEASE DON'T TAKE HER AWAY. That would indeed be a great injustice.
