Too many developers and businesses are paying lip service to planning consent conditions working on the premise they can overturn them later. A full mix of services and facilities in Ivybridge is essential to a vibrant community that attracts people to live there.

Let's join together to protect our local businesses and the great variety of shops we are so lucky to have in Ivybridge.

No to expansion at the garden centre. The site is already becoming an eyesore

I have a small business in Fore Street and have already been approached by Endsleigh about moving there, I said no as I want to be part of providing a service in Ivybridge and protecting what we have.

Keep Ivybridge local and help the local traders survive.

These large companies use their weight unfairly and squeeze the life out of local communities

The council should also consider reducing / cancelling parking fees within Ivybridge to encourage shoppers into the Town.

The shopkeepers should do the same as they did in Sherborne, they covered all the shop windows to show people what the town would become as a protest at a planned Tesco store, they won the the battle.

Between Tesco's and Endsleigh for a historic small village, thats ENOUGH!

I and many others put great value on having a vibrant town centre on our doorstep and are dismayed by the sad array of empty shops. Tesco and endsleigh are already contributing factors in this and their expansion will eventually kill the heart of the town. Surely the change in the planning is illegal?

I don't live there, but visit family there, I see their concerns.

Planners have to respect the local traders. By allowing out of town shopping parks it will drive the smaller businesses to the wall and the High Streets and small towncentres will become ghost towns destroying the communities along with it.

Diversification here has gone far enough and it is becoming a shopping centre detracting from ivybridge town itself.

Ivybridge needs a variety of shops, free/cheaper parking, fair rents and support from local shoppers. Endsleigh should not be allowed to expand anymore.
