The cull is a joke gone too far. All evidence shows that killing these gorgeous wild animals does not prevent TB in cattle. This is 2014, not 1014. There is absolutely justification for inflicting pain and cruelty on any animal. The Isle of Wight has prided itself on not having TB amongst its badgers and use of an effective vaccine will be more humane than a cull, as was demonstrated in the furtive badger culls of 2013 and 2014 in SW England.

I visit the Island at least 3 times a year & would hope the council shows compassion to its wildlife. by not killing badgers.

apart from the clear facts that the pilot culls were a disaster, this is a cruel way to destroy our wonderful wildlife. Nature should be left to nature. Farmers should vaccinate their catlle, after all they are a business in it to make money and all business have to bear expenses.
