This is a space that serves a whole community. ..and helps people with mental health issues to mix and achieve something, which as a fellow sufferer I know onay too well what difference this makes to your recovery...this space is needed by all of us and not a space that should be occupied by yet more flats. There are plenty of brown field sites in more need of regeneration...leave our gardens; our beautiful space alone!

I don't want to look at no flats out of my bedroom windows , save the time and money spent by Inkwell on the lovely garden. Supporting people in needs this place needs to stay open,

The environment which has been created at inkwell is one of positivity and hope for many members of the community who attend the the space.THe garden adds to this.for many people coming to nkwell it is their only link with people.THe gardens have been tended wonderfully by the gardening group who have invested time and money to keep the area presentable.LEeds city council please think of the negative effect on the service users of inkwell which saves the health trust money by virtue of helping those of us who have mental health issues.

inkwell gave me a place when I had nowhere I felt accepted the gardens gave me sunlight and beauty to look at and a space to a enjoy social events with people who understand I'm not like everyone else without the garden those people that use it now will become isolated unable to venture out in a safe environment please don't take it away from them

Four years ago I had just come out of hospital, been diagnosed with Bi- polar and moved to Leeds. I knew no-one apart from my family and the mental health team. I felt lost, alone and utterly hopeless. My care co- ordinator suggested I go to Inkwell. I attended the craft cafe and from that first session I felt welcomed and accepted. I went on to become a volunteer and am now about to start a paid role with Leeds Mind. The garden was a very important part of my recovery and is critical to the healing atmosphere and environment of Inkwell. It is a respite space, a reflection space, a social space, a learning space and a place for fundraising events to be held. I truly believe that if this space is built on it will devastate Inkwell and will leave the hundreds of people who need this life changing place high and dry. Inkwell and the garden are more than just a building and green space they are a support network that promotes social inclusion, challenes the stigma of mental health, breaks down barriers and creates acceptance. In our current society where recovery and understanding of mental health is being promoted it seems unbelievable that this valuable resource is under threat. Save Inkwell Gardens.
