Another apartment building versus places for apartment inhabitants to partake in a sport is not needed.

This would be a true shame to remove such a phenomenal facility

Tennis courts are needed particularly during winter. Dirt lot is useless and has not been used by many people even during summer. The tennis courts brights money to NYC. Pls negotiate w Sutton Tennis to lower their rates to make more accessible and affordable. Current rates are not accessible to people w modest means

We need these courts. It's our life.

There are very few places in NYC to play tennis during the winter months. Sutton East provides a much needed and inexpensive place to play not only for local area residents, but to local area school children who are interested in developing the skills to play the sport. Sutton East, while calling itself a club, is not in the usual sense, as it is open to anyone who has a love for the game. On a typical day you will see senior citizens playing on courts alongside local area grammar school children holding tennis rackets for the first time enjoying the feeling of accomplishment of getting the ball over the net. Sutton East provides the New York Parks Department with needed revenue from the rental income it provides, but also protects what are the grounds that become the baseball fields during the summer; something that would be lost if not allowed to continue. Sutton East has been a good partner with the neighborhood, the Parks Department and the City for the past 44 years; it has been a good steward of the environment and deserves to be given the chance to continue.

Please save Sutton Tennis, save jobs!

Please, don't close these courts. There is nowhere else I can learn to play tennis in the UES that I can afford.

We need indoor tennis in NYC!!

The Sutton East tennis courts are such a valuable resource for many who simply cannot afford any other option for tennis in the city. I am a young artist myself, who makes a humble salary. Many of the other players I've met are also young professionals who travel long distances as these courts are one of the only options. Most other courts requiring high membership fees and hourly fees. These courts are the only option for so many of us. I live in Astoria Queens, but I know people who travel from deep in Brooklyn. I hope signing this petition brings attention to the fact that these courts are so valuable to so many all over New York City especially in the winter months when tennis is hard to come by. Please reconsider keeping the courts.
