On my paycheck, for 8 years now, says Sutton East Tennis Club. My son, and many many sons and daughters play here, at Sutton East Tennis Club. Do not take that from us, existence wise and kids and adults sport activity wise. You get the picture. Thank you.

The tennis bubble provides a much needed outlet for our neighborhood. Particularly given I live across the street and rarely see the field used. Also I’ve experienced first hand that many people visit the bubble from other boroughs and spend money in our community.

Tennis has always been a major part of the heritage and culture of NYC. After all,the U.S Open is played annually only a few short miles from the Sutton East Tennis club. If these courts are eliminated, millions of kids over the coming decades will be deprived of the chance to learn and enjoy the game of tennis. There simply aren't enough public courts in the city and indoor public courts are almost non-existent. I am not sure what would be done with the area where the courts are if they are eliminated but I can assure you it would be a terrible place for an outdoor park or other facilities. The noise level outside is almost deafening from the traffic on the Queensboro bridge and all the traffic on York Ave getting on and off the FDR all day and all night. Thus it is an ideal location for what is already there--indoor tennis courts. as the saying goes... "if ain't broke, don't fix it."

Tennis is a sport for all ages, small children and elderly, it is multigenerational and social and athletic. There are too few courts already in NYC. Preserve the opportunity for urban dwellers to play tennis please!
